Online Kaam
Not all Nepali brothers have gone abroad as workers.  The tendency to go abroad for intellectual and technical work is also increasing.  Such manpower is able to stay in Nepal and work abroad.

Who doesn't want to do the work of foreign companies with their own family through computer and internet? Working in the country would also strengthen the country's economy.

In the mid of the epidemic of COVID-19, the culture of working from home is being practiced due to the long lockdown and prohibition.

However, many Nepalis have been outsourcing to international companies in the country. The international upwork freelance platform is also providing such opportunities.

But international platforms do not show much respect for Nepali workers. But COVID unveiled the dilemma of the speed and potential of remote work. And, by increasing the potential, it has created a situation to encourage Nepali youth as well.

Meanwhile, 22-year-old Bikas Pokharel of Dhading is now trying to bring remittances into the country through remote work by establishing link between national and international employers and capable Nepali labor force.

With this broad objective, Vikas has launched the website of its startup company Online Kaam. Vikas has worked in various companies in the field of technology for the past 4/5 years, passing higher secondary education and postponing graduation.

His job was mostly marketing. But his curiosity led to the real development of technology at the same time. Meanwhile, when he arrived in 2018 BS, he developed a strong desire to become an entrepreneur and implement the key he had collected.

At that time, there was no practice, experience and market for work from home in Nepal. He realized that it had a future and bought a domain called onlinekaam.com. He worked on that thought slowly.

In the early 2020's, the world was hit by an epidemic of corona virus. The world was imprisoned in a lockdown. In the meantime, everyone practiced remote working. It is also succeeding. At the same time, Vikas thought also found a conducive environment to flourish. The thought became more widespread.

Four years ago, he was teaching digital marketing to four or five Nepali students living in the United States. Some students at the time also expressed a desire to invest in Vikas thought.

They provided seed funding of Rs. 800,000. Now, Vikas' online work team has also set up a support office in Soltimod in Kathmandu. A few weeks ago, Vikas and his team also launched an Online Kaam website.

People with a variety of skills can work with the help of computers and the Internet, Online Kaam provides national and international opportunities for such people.

It covers all types of technical and non-technical work, from development, content writing to web designing.

The online Kaam that the site has just made public is going to build its quality workforce rather than go directly to the market and make money through clients.

Vikas told Media that there is a plan to train the workforce for this. "We've received over 70 applications in just one week since we launched the site. We will also shortlist those names before extracting a quality workforce from that, 'he said.

There are plans to create demand from employer company in the future and prepare a portfolio of talent by training the workforce before that. He says that if he does not have such manpower, he will seek it from outside.

Currently, the company is focused on sustaining rather than making a profit. He says that the online work aims to create 500 talents by the time he starts his work on a full scale.

COVID has devastated the country's economy and is expected to last a long time. In this case, the companies have to do a lot of work with as little manpower as possible. The immediate objective of the company is to meet such needs, said Vikas.

"If a company needs a business plan writer, it cannot hire unnecessary full-time employees at this time. In this case, employees can be hired for 10/20 days for one time project and on-going project. It also helps employers reduce their costs, ”he said.

It is necessary to introduce Nepal's manpower in the global environment, he said that there is a plan to prepare Nepali manpower within five years and to bring income to the country with foreign opportunities.

Vikas, who prefers to call his organization Digital Employment Distribution and Management Services, says he will never go to the office to promote work in the future.

He admits that there are other companies providing such services in Nepal. But he claims that his company is very different from those companies.

‘Freelancing platforms are coming for Nepal. There are also upsurges in the international market. Everyone brings in remittances. But they don't look at people with different abilities. Only the capable are included, 'he said.

Looking at the nature of the work, it seems like a Job placement company. But Vikas's Online Kaam is different from those companies. He says that online kaam does not promise more than it can give.

"Clients have the right to read our agreement and Approve or Disapprove. We don’t promise more than we can give, "he said.
