"It's not possible to have a ground network seismometer everywhere in California," said Google. So we are preparing to make good use of the Android platform. This means that the Android phone will be a mini seismometer.

In the first phase, Google will partner with the United States Geological Survey and the California Governor's Office Emergency Service to make the Earthquake Alert system available on Android. However, it has been mentioned that it will be promoted globally.
