National Examination Board has put forward five modalities for conducting Class 12 examinations in consultation with various stakeholders and experts. The board has put forward a new modality for conducting class 12 examination which has been postponed for five months.
In the modality put forward by the board: To conduct the examination by sending the prepared question paper to the state examination office and keeping the center in the school, Conducting examinations in the districts and areas where the Corona pandemic is less, Similarly, discussions have been held on the modalities to prepare question papers under open book system and conduct examinations online, Taking the exam by evaluating the internal exam of class 12 and to conduct the examination by preparing the working procedure on the basis of the class 11 examination.
The board will review the marks given by the school, test the answer scripts of the students who have given high marks on the basis of requirement and give the marks again. Chairman of the Board, Chandra Mani Poudel, said that no decision has been taken on the basis of conducting the examination after discussions on the five modalities. He said, "We are in the process of discussions. We will prepare a report with modalities and submit it to the minister as soon as the ban is lifted in the Kathmandu Valley. We will conduct the examination based on the instructions given by the ministry." The board is preparing to hold discussions with the representatives of student unions, organizations, HISSAN and some representative organizations.
Board member secretary Durga Aryal said that some modalities will be prepared and submitted to the ministry after discussions with all the agencies. According to him, after the ministry approves the report, the procedure will be prepared on the same basis and the examination will be held. Due to the corona infection, the board had prepared the SEE exam based on the internal evaluation of the school and certified by the board. The board has already decided to conduct the examination of class 11 and the board had decided to conduct the examination of class 12 as it is the final examination of the school level. Some experts advising the board argued that there is no need to panic right now. Some suggested taking the exam online and some in pieces. The board is collecting and writing everyone's suggestions and is preparing to submit them to the ministry within a few days.
The board has made up its mind not to take the exam before Dashain. It was suggested that the exam should not be held in a hurry. Most of them have suggested to take the exam at home center.
Not to give final evaluation to school was suggested.
The National Examination Board (NEB) in a virtual discussion on the modality of conducting the Class 12 examination, which has been postponed since Baisakh, has suggested that most of the primary school teachers and teachers should not be given the right to make a final evaluation. Most of the schools had given 4 GPA to their students after giving them the right to make final evaluation while publishing the results of SEE examination.
Most of the students were given 4 GPA by the capital and the country's renowned schools in the name of passing. According to the statistics, in 2072 BS, 2 people had 4 GPA. By increasing that number, 9 thousand 19 people got 4 GPA this year. Experts have suggested that the school should never be given the right to make a final assessment as the school has made such a choice. Similarly, in 2073, 4, in 2074, 74 and in 2075, 106 students had passed with 4 GPA. Chandramani Poudel, chairperson of the board, said that the final evaluation of class 12 will be taken by the board based on the suggestions of experts. This news is in Nepal Samachar Dainik.
