"Crime which Blames Victim not the Criminal"

She is not a Slut, Whore or a Bitch "She" is a Daughter, Mother and a Sister.

It is disturbing to believe that in our country the victim is to blame and suffer all the pain and shame, for a crime she never commited.

But the most disturbing thing is that the criminal who did the crime is free and looking for another prey.

When a new rape is reported in the community, People blame the criminal first to show their sanity to the society but in reality they blame the girl.

"She must have been wearing provocative clothes", "She must be a slut ", "She was out late", "She was hanging out with guys", "She was asking for it" and many more.

But was she?

If cloth was the problem then Why was 8 month old raped by her own father in 2018?

If time was the problem then Why was a girl from Mahottari was raped in broad day light by a 25 year old Ranjit Das?

If hanging out with boys was a problem then Why did the 45 year old father raped his own 18 year old daughter?

It was never the faut of girl. It was the fault of those men and their mind set that molestes girls for their pleasure.

According to the Nepal police data, it is reported that 1623 rape case were registered across the Country in the First eight month of fiscal year 2018/19 like wise, approximately Per day 6 and per month 185 rape cases are registered.

Still many rape cases are not reported because families fear insult if they report, or the rapist force them in such condition so they can't file a report against them. But in some cases the girl is married to the rapist, forcing her to the miserable life.

Every year, the data shows that the rape case have been increasing rapidly. A majority of victim were from the age group of 11-16 years, to data from the Nepal police.

A total of 1480 rape cases were recorded across the country in fiscial year 2017/18 and 1,137 were registered in the fiscal year 2016/17

Although the cases are reported, Some case never reach court, and very few get Justice. It is a delima that who is to blame for injustice to the victims. Government, Police, Politicians or Us?
