NIC Asia Bank has launched a digital card based online payment gateway. To provide this service to its customers through its branch network spread across the country, the bank has introduced international gateway provider company 'CyberSource' in Nepal.
By introducing this gateway system in Nepal, the system has been introduced for the interested merchants to receive payment through the cards provided by any national and international bank, the bank said.
NIC Asia has brought this gateway system to Nepal for the first time with the major investment of US multinational card company Visa. The gateway system is being used in various countries in Asia, Europe and Africa, including the United States, China and India.
Through the gateway system, various merchants in the country can establish business relationships with a large number of national and international card users and receive payments directly to their NIC Asia Bank accounts.
The bank has stated that it has brought this facility as per the strategy of becoming the first digital first bank in Nepal.
The bank believes that this will add a new dimension to the payment system for e-commerce based travel and tours, aviation, utility service providers, payment service providers, tourism entrepreneurs, adventure and entertainment, handicrafts and other businesses based on the online platform.
