Dish Media Network Limited has launched internet service through Fiber to the Home (FTTH). The company, which received a license for internet service from the Nepal Telecommunication Authority last January, has launched the service with a plan to aggressively expand the market.

According to the company, the service has been expanded to three locations in the initial phase. "We have started internet service in Bhansipati area, Tinkune-Baneshwor area and Kapan-Buddhist area," said Sudip Acharya, managing director of the company. "We are enlarging our assistance to Bhansipati and Kapan area by increasing our own fiber."

In the Tinkune-Baneshwor area, we have started providing fiber internet in collaboration with the main company of Space Times Network (another company of the company, SIM TV).

The company aims to increase the number of Internet users to 12,000 within a month. Acharya said that the company is working with a plan to expand the service outside the ring road in the Kathmandu Valley within this year.

He goes on to say, "Our first plan is to expand the service outside the ring road and then enter the ring road." While expanding the service within the cycle path, there is a plan to expand the service on a large scale at once. This kind of strategy has been made with the expectation that we will also be comfortable when the base is prepared by expanding the service outside at the beginning. '

On the other hand, the company has stated that it will also promote satellite internet as an alternative. The company has started providing internet service through satellite as it will be inconvenient to provide service by expanding fiber in villages.

According to Acharya, since satellite internet is a new technology, all goods have to be purchased from outside. But due to Corona, the required goods have not been able to come to Nepal. That is why the service has been started from fiber internet now, he said. "We look for to start effort on satellite internet soon," he said.
